What Is Google Buzz?

So What Is Google Buzz?

Google Buzz is the newest way to share and socialize on the internet. Launched on the 9th of February 2010, this new social media-networking site is looking similar to the big boy’s like Twitter and Facebook. You can update your status to let your followers/friends know what you are doing or you can share videos, pictures and audio.

Nothing new so far…

With Google Buzz, you have the option to share publicly or to a specific group of people like your family or closest friends. Another nice simple feature is the benefit of viewing the posted pictures in full screen rather than a poxy image like some social media sites.

And…

If you have a Gmail account then you can automatically follow the suggested list that Google offers you from your normal email contacts. It is easy to keep up to date with Google Buzz because comments are instant rather than having the need to refresh the page and they will be sent to your inbox.

What is Google Buzz doing to stand out from the crowd?

Another cool feature is how Google Buzz will filter through the posts, which mean that the junk is not wasting your time. Obviously, the new social media site can be linked to your mobile. However, with this option you have the ability to tag your location in your posts so your friends can instantly see where you are. By using Google maps, you could arrange to meet people at the closest cafe or bar. In addition, with the android blower, simply talk into your phone, that will translate it into a post.

As a keen blogger, I love the new Google Buzz plug in that can be installed to my wordpress blogs. This will help my blog readers share my blog posts easily and quickly. This also helps drive more traffic to my sites everybody wins!

Hopefully, the security and privacy of Google buzz will be a priority concern to help the launch of the new social media site. Lets hope it can get rid of the spam and help us to use a social media site for what it is meant to be used for, socializing!

What is Google Buzz planning to achieve? Maybe what Google are trying to achieve is a way of pulling back some people who have started to use Facebook ads rather than Google ads.

Time will tell if this is going to take off. It is still early days for this newbie. I am sure that more tools and design features are in the pipeline from its programmers. At this early stage, the usability could be a concern. None of us have time to waste setting it up, organising and scrolling through the information.

I was tempted to check it out when it showed on my gmail account, but like you said, who has time! Great article though to perk up my ears. It would be nice to have the convenience of it, however I am banned from adsense so it might not matter to me.
Thanks for a great post!
